1. What can I expect from Piano Lessons with you?
Most of my peers who were in band and taking lessons at the same time I was gave up their instruments and playing music long ago. Even the ones who were really good and seemed to enjoy it. They often tell me how they wish they would have stuck with it and could still play.
This is why my teaching method centers around learning to play songs and music that you love. When you see the possibilities of music up front, it strengthens your committment, increases your excitement and promises a lifelong relationship with you and the piano.
While studying music and piano with me, you will:
2. How much are Piano Lessons?
Piano Lessons are $25 for 1/2 hour. $50 for 1 hour. (Week to Week)
Piano Lessons are $22 for 1/2 hour. $44 for 1 hour. (Monthly - Every 4 Weeks)
Week to week payment requires a $50 payment at the first lesson ($100 for 1 hour lessons). This pays for the first two lessons. Each week, $25 payment will be due and will go towards the next week's lesson
Monthly payments are $88 ($176 for 1 hour lessons). Payment is due at first lesson and every four weeks.
I accept cash, money order or credit/debit payments via Paypal. Automated monthly payment is available.
3. How long is lesson?
Piano Lessons are 30 minutes or 1 hour.
For the younger students, I suggest a 30 minute lesson at first. And if they show increasing interest and the ability to remain focused for an hour, then I will suggest an hour lesson.
Adults and children older than 12 are welcome to start with a 1 hour lesson.
4. Where do Piano Lessons take place?
All Piano Lessons take place at my studio in Hyde Park at SHoP (Southside Hub of Prodcution) at 5638 S Woodlawn Chicago, IL 60637 (on Google Maps).
I am willing to travel to your home if you have a piano and you sign up for 1 hour lessons.
The rate for in home lessons is $65 per hour. It is at my discretion to decide what distance I am willing to travel for in home lessons.
5. At what age do you suggest my child start taking Piano Lessons?
If your child can sit and focus on a task for 30 minutes and is able to accomplish basic reading of words, then your child is ready to start taking Piano Lessons with me.
Most children are usually well equipped for Piano Lessons by age 6 or 7.
